Snow, Snow, Snow

Hello everyone, Hope this note finds you all well and resting in the Lord. I don't know if I should have admitted how much i like snow and get excited about it like I did in the Christmas play. Ha! Ha! The majority of people aren't fond of snow. It has to be cold to snow, and driving in it can be a nightmare. I really do enjoy it though, for it holds many wonderful memories for me. My siblings and I used to go sledding for hours. We would make ramps and dump water on them so that we could go air borne. we would also make tunnels through the snow, and dig out huge rooms to play in. We would spend hours and hours enjoying it. It also kept 7 kids out of my parents hair for awhile. After I came to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, snow took on a new meaning. Isaiah 1:18 states, "Come now, and let us reason together, Says the Lord, Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow" When I see a fresh blanket of snow these days, it reminds me that my sins are covered by the blood of Jesus. It is beautiful to look upon the front yard and see that blanket covering up the grass and dirt. When it starts to warm up a bit, then the snow starts to melt and get slushy. Then there are spots of dirt that pop through and it isn't as beautiful anymore. Our lives are a lot like that. We are covered by the righteousness of Christ, but when we sin; then the dirt starts to show through our lives, and we do not look as clean and white as God intends for us. May we all keep ourselves clean and attractive to the lost. There are so many people confused and scared right now. May they look upon us and see a people who are different than the world and that can rest in the Lord with confidence. I miss all of you that are staying home for the time being. I am looking forward to the day when we can be together again, and we can speak face to face. I will try not to act so excited about the snow, but it will be hard. Maybe if you folks get excited about the sun, it will arrive a little quicker. Ha! Ha! Take care. Merry Christmas, and God bless With Love, Pastor, Joe

A Little Sure Is A Lot

Hello everyone. It is good to be writing to you again, and trust that all is well. I was reminded of the story of the prophet Elijah and the widow that he met in I Kings chapter 17. Elijah is instr

Avoiding The Adversary

The other day as Paula and I were taking a walk on the rails to trails, we came upon a black snake. It was only about two feet in length, a rather small snake at that. Paula didn't see it at first,

THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN

The title for the devotion today is taken from one of  Bob Dylan's many songs. As I look at my yard this week, I can see it is a changin. It is now turning a yellowish brown instead of the lush gre
